The Aguape Ranch was founded 150 years ago and is still owned by the same family today. However few years ago the activities of the farm were diversified. The Ranch was home for a school, a regional horse breeder, and a Hyacinth Macaw project, cattle ranching and now a tourism area where a large variety and quantity of wildlife can be seen. Guests can try fresh milk at the corrals at sunrise. The Pousada Aguape is equipped with 14 apartments with air-conditioning and ceiling fans. The pousada has a swimming pool, restaurant, and a football (soccer) and volleyball area, thatched-roof kiosks to relax after meals and an air strip for small planes. This pousada also offers a camping area with tents, bathrooms, electric power, boat rental and a convenience store.

What is the best season to visit the Pantanal - Sul? Pantanal - Sul landscapes change radically throughout the year due to the geographic and climatic characteristics. The fauna also changes, staying or migrating according to the existing conditions for shelter, nesting or food. There are two seasons in the Pantanal: the wet season which goes from October to March and when many aquatic animals and reptiles are present (as well as mosquitoes and insects), and the dry season which goes from April to September when butterflies make their presence as well as many land animals.
