If you are driving from San José, take the Interamerican Highway and follow the signs to Puntarenas. It is approximately a two hour drive. Once you get to Puntarenas, take the ferry to Playa Naranjo. Sit back and enjoy your one- hour ferry trip while you see the Gulf Islands, the dolphins jumping at your side or feed the birds that fly along. Once you reach Playa Naranjo, continue your drive taking the road to Jicaral and turn left at Plaza Central San Francisco.
