To breathe the purest air, La Tigra National Park is the perfect choice. A cloud forest with an area of 328 kms², located just 25 kms. from Tegucigalpa. The first National Park of the country, it has a Visitor’s Center with information about the plant and animal life it houses.
Our hike will take you to several trails finding a wide variety of vegetation; bromeliads, ferns, moss, fungi and the giants of the forest; oaks, encino, pine, ceibo – the sacred tree of the Mayans. Also, we will be able to see avocado trees, which are the main food source for the quetzal, which, with a bit of luck, we might observe in its natural habitat. Al healthy walk among many birds and species while enjoying a cool mountain climate.
